Systems Architect - Senior [2021-80]

SAF/CDM Technical Advisory and Professional Services (TAPS)

Secretary of the Air Force Concepts, Development and Management Office (SAF/CDM) Network and Architectures Directorate (CDMN) Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO) is charged with providing DoD-wide enterprise-level development, integration, systems engineering and synchronized delivery of mission capabilities and DoD-wide enterprise services that support interagency, strategic, allied, multinational, coalition, joint and combined Command and Control (C2) and intelligence coalition information sharing requirements. These capabilities include cross-domain services, cybersecurity and interoperability testing. The MPCO assumes responsibility for modernization, management, integration and consolidation of the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Pegasus, Combined Federated Battle Laboratory Network (CFBLNet), Virtual Data Centers (VDCs), US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems (US BICES) and US BICES extended (US BICES-X).

ITS, LLC is seeking professional talent for a Systems Architect in the DC area to support the Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO).

Required Skills:

• At least ten (10) years of experience performing work related to the above position description. Minimum two years of experience working with multi-level security solutions supporting coalition environments and working at the Joint Staff, at a CCMD, DoD, or with NATO, and deploying or actively supporting coalition or bilateral military information sharing efforts.

• Minimum two (2) years of experience with designing architectures in Multi-Level Security (MLS) environments with Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS).

• Ability to work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects for the Secretary of the Air Force (SAF) and Mission Partner Environment (MPE) and performs all functional duties independently.

• May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

• Possess the ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management, and the ability to professionally prepare and present analytical documents for senior military and defense officials.

• Must have requisite engineering degree as applicable to engineering or program management certification as applicable to program management; cost/schedule/performance background and ability to develop materials and brief senior leaders on complex issues. The government would consider other technical degrees or special case exemptions on a case by case basis if the person has experience and a proven track record.

• Must posses broad experience across the systems engineering life cycle to include design, testing, implementation and sustainment of complex intelligence or military information sharing systems.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with creating DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) viewpoints to document enterprise architectures.

• Comfortable with using Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) and DoD IT Service Management (ITSM) methods to define service-based architectures, including development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Familiar with integrating cloud-based and network-based architectures to facilitate secure information sharing.

• Experience with DoD IT Portfolio Management, Road mapping, and Service Catalog practices to guide the capability evolution strategy.

• Familiar with enterprise-level risk management practices.

• Comfortable establishing and leading architecture working groups to control the architecture vision and facilitate a common understanding with other teams.

• Experience developing Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) documents.

• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and tools like NoMagic MagicDraw.



Master Degree in the stated discipline OR Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years additional work experience related to the labor category functional description
