Linux Systems Administrator – IT Compliance [2022-083]

Systems Engineering/Admin

ITS, LLC is looking for Linux System Administrators with strong IT Compliance knowledge to work with a team of System Administrators supporting customers located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Responsibilities:

• Will operate in a team environment consisting of internal and external members, co-workers and customers.

• Work with end users and customers to bring their computing infrastructure into NASA compliance.

• Ensure optimal hardware and software operation

• Assist in hardening computer systems consistent with security practices and established guidelines.

•Work directly with systems administration teams to resolve incidents quickly and identify root cause.

• Assist customers with best IT practices.



Required Skills:

Required:

• Deep understanding of Linux operating systems (i.e. Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, etc.)

• Extensive experience with and good understanding of IT security concepts for compute environments containing varied computer types and operating systems.

• Excellent user interface/interpersonal/written and verbal communication skills.

• Extensive experience with on-prem IT infrastructure: Compute, Network, Storage, Database, Etc.

• Extensive experience with computer virtualization (VMWare, KVM, etc.)

• Experience with cloud and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)

• Experience with Configuration Management technologies (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)

• Experience with Linux containers.

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration.

• Ability to automate routine tasks using shell or programming languages (Bash, Python, Java, etc.)

• Experience with MS Windows a plus.

• Experience with NFS.

• Experience supporting and maintaining network storage

• Practical experience with diagnosing and resolving a wide variety of technical problems and issues.

• Experience working directly with customers and end users.



Desired:

• Excellent user interface / interpersonal / written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to operate in a team environment consisting of both internal and external members, co-workers and customers

• The ability to document and electronically store daily task information, architecture, processes, and user instructions

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti and Ganglia

• The ability to work independently

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $85,000 - $145,000. Please note, salary is based on education, experience, and responsibilities.
