Cyber Security Analyst Expert [2022-058]

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs and collaborates with engineers or software developers to select appropriate security controls and mechanisms to ensure the compatibility of system components.

• Works with appropriate parties to resolve discrepancies between proposed IT systems and enterprise quality and security standards.

• Communicates with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements and security requirements.

• Act as part of a team of geographically dispersed personnel to ensure cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated and executed successfully.

• Analyzes objectives, scope, issues, or organizational impact of information systems.

• Assists and participate in the design and implementation of Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) activities.

• Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system related information as directed.

• Establish functional or system standards to ensure security interoperability within the system requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints.

• Evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability.

• Investigate system component suitability for specified purposes and make recommendations regarding component use.

• Monitor system operation to detect potential problems.

• Provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems.

• Provide guidelines for implementing secure systems to customers or installation teams.

• Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture.

• Research, tests, or verifies proper functioning of software patches and fixes.

• Assist in the documentation of systems and network architecture within the organization.

• Leads or participates as a member of a team to assess and recommend a migration strategy to new technologies.

• Provides support to junior staff members.

• Assist in the development, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions.

• Assist in the development of information system security requirements and plans in conjunction with engineering staff member for - wide or large-scale information systems.



Required Skills:

Requirements:

• Must meet DoD 8570.01M requirements for IAM Level II (e.g. CASP CE, etc.)

• In-depth understanding of the system development life cycle for implementing Enterprise level systems

• Must have ITIL V3/V4 Foundation.

Additional Requirements:

• Experienced in supporting government leaders and other technical/business professionals.

• Assists senior level technicians, specialists & managers.

Experience working on large-scale information technology projects

• Demonstrated knowledge of web applications, cybersecurity and open-source technologies

• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work across organizations



Bachelor degree in related field or a combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

8-15+ years depending on education

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. Please note, salary is based on education, experience, and responsibilities.
