SOFTWARE CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER [2020-22]

Defensive Cyber Operations for Space (DCO-S)

Provide Software Development support for SMC/ECXCO to provide the U.S. Space Force (USSF) with Defensive Cyber Operations for Space (DCO-S) capabilities to protect the U.S. Space Enterprise. Assist the SMC/ECXCO in the execution of an agile-based program to rapidly perform system development, acquisition, fielding, and product support across multiple DCO-S product lines. Utilize and maintain the Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline to enable secure rapid software development practices.

Provide cybersecurity engineering support and expertise to identify and resolve complex problems across the Detect Product Line. Research, evaluate, recommend, document, and implement technical solutions based on the Detect Product Line requirements. Provide support to develop and document development processes.

Required Skills:

• Apply software subject matter expertise to execute the software development lifecycle and achieve DCO-S program development priorities

• Apply DevSecOps principles following software quality assurance, software test automation, and software hardening and cybersecurity testing practices to deliver secure code and applications

• Develop unit test plans for developed software and conduct automated software unit testing

• Provide support to developmental and operational testing for the DCO-S ‘Detect’ Product Line

• Support the engineering team members as a cybersecurity subject matter expert in embedded software application development

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the secure development of software

• Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal test

• Develop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation

• Experience with Scripting and Programming Languages: Bash, Java, JavaScript, Python, JSON, Perl, R, HTML, CSS, PHP, C++, C#

• Experience with Applications/Frameworks: Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK Stack), React.js, React Native

• Experience with unstructured data sets using NoSQL and MongoDB

• Experience with relational data sets using MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and Oracle

• Experience developing software for Web and Cloud-based systems

• Experience developing solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Experience with Unix, Linux, Ubuntu Server, Arch Linux, and Fedora Core Linux

• Experience developing software using CI/CD Pipelines and DevSecOps

• Experience maintaining Software Factory CI/CD Pipelines: Git, GitHub, Artifactory, Kubernetes, Helm

• Experience with Software Quality Assurance, Software Test Automation, and Software Hardening and Cybersecurity Testing practices

• Experience with static code analysis (Fortify), test automation (Selenium), code coverage tools, and automated test frameworks (Robot)

• Experience using JIRA to plan and report on the agile software development

• Experience using Confluence as a program knowledge portal

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of the agile framework, scrum techniques, and software development artifacts

• Experience with Agile SAFe 5.0 and current Agile Certification

• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing program environment

• Support sprint planning and deliverables

• Ability to work with product owners to manage backlogs and new user requests



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
