Principal Systems Engineer – Test and Evaluation Engineer [2021-144]

Provide Test and Evaluation (T&E) support on assigned projects. Participate in and brief Project Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to ensure T&E needs are clearly conveyed and ensure assigned milestones are completed on time. Evaluate and review requirements in support of assigned projects to ensure requirements are clearly worded and verifiable and to determine acceptance criteria and verification method to be used to verify requirements. Serve as a Technical Lead. Develop and update test procedures in support of assigned projects.

Essential Job Functions:

• Plan, conduct, and assist in project execution in the area of T&E

• Identify T&E technical needs and develop Test Procedures in support of assigned projects

• Review Requirements in support of assigned projects to ensure requirements are clear, concise, and verifiable

• Identify method to verify requirements

• Develop acceptance criteria to be used to verify requirements

• Analyze, develop, recommend and implement approaches to meet all assigned tasks and milestones

• Participate in functional checkouts and Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) activities

• Prepare reports to communicate to appropriate personnel

• Serves as an interface for project information pertaining to T&E for all assigned projects



Basic Qualifications:

• Eight or more years of experience working as a Test Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering or math)

• Experience verifying requirements

• Experience working with Requirements Management tools (DOORS preferred)

• Experience developing test procedures

• Experience developing verification cross-reference matrices

• Experience working with Windows based computer systems and components and Office tool suite

• Experience working with Project IPTs

• Fundamental knowledge of the engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written media such as graphical slides and verbal presentations

• Working knowledge of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base Launch Range and its instrumentation, preferred

• Good organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute work assignments

• Good communication skills (written and verbal)

• Good human relations and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and provide guidance to less experienced personnel

• Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Valid US driver’s license required

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or Top) Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
